Your position is more than a number on your back.

Learn the reads, skills and habits your position actually demands. Numbers are kept small so every player gets quality reps and feedback they can use straight away.

Checkout opens 6pm Wednesday. Waitlist families get the link first.

Why small groups?

At a typical holiday clinic, your player can be one of forty. They move through the drills, but rarely get enough time to fix the details.

Small groups let us stop, explain and go again. Players get feedback while the rep is still fresh, then another chance to put it into practice.

A middle and a half should not be doing the same session. Every part of this program is shaped around the decisions and skills of the position.

"The best players see the picture early. That can be coached." PlayIQ · Train smarter. Play better.
Straight up

Who this is for, and who it isn't

This is an elite, small-group, position-specific program. Most clinics run generic drills aimed at everyone. This is the opposite, and it's not for every player.

This is for

  • Players 14 and over who are serious about their footy and want to get better at their position, not just fitter.
  • Rep-squad players and rep hopefuls who want the reads and decisions coached, not just the drills run.
  • The player who keeps being told to "work on their game sense" and nobody has ever shown them how.
  • Players who want to be pushed, corrected and pushed again. With five in a group, every rep is watched.
  • Parents who want honest, specific feedback, including what isn't working yet.

This isn't for

  • Players under 14.
  • Anyone after a fitness session or a fun day out. This is decision-making and technique, not conditioning.
  • Players still learning the basics of catch, pass and tackle. Start with our free Player Development Series and come to the next one.
  • A player who's being sent rather than choosing to come. Small groups mean nowhere to hide, and that only works if they want it.
  • Anyone expecting a promise about selection. We coach what the next level looks for. What a player does with it is up to them.
Most clinicsForty players. One set of drills for everyone. A whistle and a high-five.
This programFive players. One position. Three coaches watching every rep, and your player's footage reviewed afterwards.

Who's on the field

Coaches who know the pathway

Three PlayIQ coaches, on the field for the whole session. Between us, we have coached in:

🏆

National Schoolboys Championship programs

Coaching at the level where the country's best schoolboy players are selected and developed.

17

Harvey Norman Under 17 premiership programs

The competition that feeds the Queensland and NRL pathway squads.

QLD

Queensland Under 19 State of Origin

Representative program coaching at the top of the junior pathway.

NRL

NRL and NRLW pathways

Ongoing work inside club pathway systems, so what we coach is what the next level actually looks for.

+2

Plus two student helpers currently in NRL and NRLW pathway programs

On the field with the players all session. They are a few years further down the same road, and they give your player the honest version of what it takes to get there.

The PlayIQ coaching team gives players direct feedback while the rep is still fresh, then the chance to apply it in the next one.

Continue the work

Save 20% on your Blueprint

Every player who completes a program session will receive 20% off the PlayIQ Blueprint for their position. The Blueprint continues the same work through annotated NRL footage and a structured six-week curriculum, helping players see the picture more clearly and make better decisions in games.

How the coaching works

A Middles session, as an example

Each position follows its own curriculum. For middles, the session moves from winning the carry to controlling the ruck, with time to repeat, adjust and sharpen the detail at every stage.

0:00
Set the picture. We introduce the role of a middle and the cues that shape each decision around the ruck.
0:20
Win the carry. Players learn to identify front space, choose the right target and use footwork and body height to win contact.
0:55
Build post-contact craft. We work on leg drive, ball security, finding elbows and knees, and knowing when an offload will add value.
1:25
Stay involved. Players practise push support, tracking the ball and reloading so one effort can lead to another.
1:50
Control the ruck. The focus shifts to tackle selection, marker responsibilities and the connection between the marker, A and B defenders.
2:10
Refine the craft. We revisit the key movements, add simple variations and give players repeated chances to adjust the detail.
2:25
Finish with feedback. Players leave with a clear understanding of what they did well and what needs more work.

Questions

The things parents ask

Can I watch?

Yes. We finish with a short parent debrief. During the session we ask parents to stay off the field so players focus on the coaches, not the sideline.

My player is 14 but plays up an age group. Is the session right for them?

Yes. Groups are organised by position rather than age, and the small numbers allow us to coach each player at the right level. If you're unsure, email us and we'll give you a straight answer.

Girls and boys together?

Yes. Groups are organised by position, and the coaching is adjusted to the player in front of us.

What if it rains?

We train in light rain. If the ground is closed we move to a backup date, or refund you in full if that doesn't suit.

What if my player can't make it?

Full refund up to seven days before. Inside seven days we'll transfer the spot to a mate or another session if one exists.

Do you guarantee selection?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. We teach the reads and habits that give players a better chance. What they do with it is up to them.

What does the waitlist do?

Checkout opens 6pm Wednesday. Join the waitlist for the position group you want and you'll get the booking link before it goes on social media. Joining doesn't commit you to anything.

What do I do after I pay?

You'll be sent to a short registration form for emergency contact and medical information. Then we'll email the day's details.

Places are limited for every position group.
